Edgar Solis is a professional photographer and a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) by the Society of Wine Educators. Julie Santiago is a Chemical Engineer with enthusiasm for wine, travel, photography, cooking and entertaining. They met in their native Puerto Rico, got married in 1991 and moved to Atlanta, GA where they lived for twenty years.
In 2011 they moved to Napa Valley, the area they fell in love when they first visited back in 2005. Now, Edgar works in Napa for a premium wine producer while still writing about wine and food for online media. Julie still works in the environmental field in the San Francisco Bay area and also publishes articles about wine online.
Edgar and Julie travel extensively through the Wine Country areas, tasting and learning about wine. They participate in most of SF Bay Area, Napa and Sonoma trade and consumer wine tasting events; meeting winemakers and industry experts from winemaking regions around the world. Together they have visited various California AVAs and Spain DO’s, with plans to travel and learn from other wine growing regions of the world.
They are avid cooks, and through the years Caribbean, Spanish, Southern, New Orleans and California cuisines have influenced them. Also, Edgar and Julie are fans of the Big Green Egg smoker/grill. They had planned and hosted numerous wine and food pairing events and are eager to share their knowledge, ideas and recipes.
